Back in the day, having a personal website was all the rage.

These websites ranged from the wildly creative and fascinating to the downright bizarre. People showcased everything from professional portfolios to basic "hello world" pages peppered with obscene jokes. However, the rise of social networks almost eradicated this trend. Platforms like Twitter and Pixiv made it easier and cheaper to have an online presence. For content creators, it made sense to publish where the audience already are.

Yet, here I am, creating what can only be described as an enterprise-like monstrosity: two REST APIs, microservices, database, caching syste, — features that are utterly unnecessary for something so simple.

In essence, while the era of personal websites may have waned, the drive to experiment, learn, and sometimes just have a bit of fun, remains as strong as ever.
